*Poem from my upcoming poetry book*
Sometimes you have to make peace with not being ok, okay?
We must tell ourselves that we will be fine
Maybe not today or tomorrow or next year
And when we are finally ok it will feel as foreign as the sun on your body
Weeks after cloudy weather and heavy rain
It will feel empty as well and you will wonder why you had to go through all this
And for so long just for you to be ok
But you have to remember that there was nothing you didn’t do
You did your best and you are only human
You see some forms of sadness you have no control over
And that can mean you will never be ok
But in its own twisted way, it is ok as you are in the midst of life’s happening
A twisted tragedy that hides as a mask of a beautiful experience
